The dispersal behavior of river sediment plumes from the Mississippi and Atchafalaya rivers were investigated using a 3-D hydrodynamic and sediment transport model implemented for the Louisiana inner shelf to demonstrate the application of numerical models, field data and satellite images to study river sediment plumes for the area.
