We give an introduction to the FUEL project for lattice field theory code. The code being developed (called “qhmc”) was initially targeted for gauge field generation for beyond standard model theories, and is now growing into a more general framework suitable for analysis too. The design is based on using the Lua scripting language as a wrapper for existing lattice field theory libraries, which provides a quick and easy way to develop new calculations. The implementation currently only supports… Expand
QEX: a framework for lattice field theories
We present a new software framework for simulating lattice field theories. It features an intuitive programming interface, while simultaneously achieving high performance supercomputing, all in Expand
Investigation of the scalar spectrum in SU(3) with eight degenerate flavors
The Lattice Strong Dynamics collaboration is investigating the properties of a SU(3) gauge theory with $N_f = 8$ light fermions on the lattice. We measure the masses of the lightest pseudoscalar,Expand
Stealth dark matter and gravitational waves
I present first results from ongoing lattice investigations into the finite-temperature dynamics of stealth dark matter, which adds to the standard model a new SU(4) gauge sector with four moderatelyExpand
Applying polynomial filtering to mass preconditioned Hybrid Monte Carlo
This work investigates the application of polynomial filtering to the mass preconditioned Hybrid Monte Carlo algorithm as a means of introducing many time scales into the molecular dynamics integration with a simplified parameter tuning process and finds that polynometric-filtered mass-preconditioning (PF-MP) performs as well as or better than standard mass precONDitioning, with significantly less fine tuning required. Stealth dark matter confinement transition and gravitational waves
We use non-perturbative lattice calculations to investigate the finite-temperature confinement transition of stealth dark matter, focusing on the regime in which this early-universe transition isExpand
Nonperturbative investigations of SU(3) gauge theory with eight dynamical flavors
We present our lattice studies of SU(3) gauge theory with ${N}_{f}=8$ degenerate fermions in the fundamental representation. Using nHYP-smeared staggered fermions we study finite-temperatureExpand
