This small volume is written for the general practitioner and as such is of little interest to the ophthalmologist. The author is a Scot, and his terminology differs somewhat from that used in this country, which may lead to confusion on the part of the nonspecialist. There are good discussions on such subjects as the indications for cataract extraction and the abuse of the use of the corticosteroids in ophthalmology.
