JVT/H.26L is a current project of the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and the ISO/IEC Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG). The main goals of the new JVT/H.26L standardization effort are a simple and straight forward video coding design to achieve enhanced compression performance and provision of a "network-friendly" video representation addressing "conversational" (video telephony) and "non-conversational" (storage, broadcast, or streaming) applications.
