In order to evaluation of response of canola to different levels of salinity an experiment was done in research laboratory of Islamic Azad University of Borujerd in Iran. Culturing seeds in the special dishes was done after sterilizing seeds by sodium hypochlorite solution 20%. Seedlings transferred to the Hogland- Arnon sub-power culture environment. After 24 hours from culturing, the seedlings were placed in the different salt medium (0, 75, 100 and 150 mM) as salinity treatments on Hayola… Expand

Figures from this paper

The investigation of some biochemical and physiological responses of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) cultivars from Iran to NaCl salinity stress.
TLDR
The findings showed that Yazdi cultivar employed resistance mechanisms more effectively than Diabolourde and therefore, it suffered lower injuries; higher growth parameters and lower membrane leakage in Yazdir cultivar are in agreement with this claim. Expand
Comparative Effects of Indole Acetic Acid on Photosynthetic Pigments and Mineral Contents of Two Genotypes of Okra Under Salinity Stress
Salinity stress causes a major threat to crops productivity across the globe. The effects of salt stress on photosynthetic pigments and minerals content were studied in this research work. The seedsExpand
Physiological and Biochemical Responses of Eight Eucalyptus Species to Salinity Stress
The effect of salt stress on the pysiological and biochemical responses of the seedlings of eight Eucalyptus species viz. E. kingsmillii, E. tetragona, E. salubris, E. occidentali, E. microtheca, E.Expand
Impact of Zinc Stress on Biochemical and Biophysical Parameters in Coffea Arabica Seedlings
TLDR
The characteristics analyzed showed that zinc deficiency caused greater damage to the Coffea arabica plants of (Catuaí cultivar) than zinc excess. Expand
MODULATION OF ANTIOXIDANT ENZYMES SYSTEM BY KINETIN IN SALT STRESSED SHOOTS OF ZEA MAYS
The antioxidant enzymes system in the shoot of the Zea mays was checked in the laboratory. The seeds Soil culture of Zea mays (cv. African Tall-09) were purchased from the local market and sterilizedExpand
Role of Foliar Application of Nicotinic Acid and Tryptophan on Onion Plants Response to Salinity Stress
This experiment was conducted at the National Research Centre, Dokki, Cairo, Egypt during 2006 and 2007 winter season to evaluate the effects of spraying with tryptophan (TP) and nicotinic acids (NA)Expand
Effect of Salt Stress on Different Growth and Biochemical Attributes in Two Canola (Brassica napus L.) Cultivars
A pot experiment was conducted to appraise the differences in salinity tolerance in two canola cultivars (Shiralec and Dunkeld). The experiment was laid out in completely randomized design with fiveExpand
Poly(γ-glutamic acid) enhanced tolerance to salt stress by promoting proline accumulation in Brassica napus L.
TLDR
Results showed that γ-PGA improved resistance to salt stress in rape seedlings by activating the proline synthesis pathway and promoting proline accumulation. Expand
The effect of salt stress on growth, chlorophyll content, lipid peroxidation and antioxidative enzymes of pumpkin seedling
TLDR
Investigation of the antioxidant enzymes activity of four pumpkin genotypes in response to salinity grown in hydroponic culture found an increase in malondialdehyde and chlorophyll content in salt sensitive genotypes more than salt tolerant genotypes. Expand
Biochemical Changes Associated with Induction of Salt Tolerance in Wheat
Saline stress negatively affects on the biochemical processes of wheat plants as a result of imbalance in catabolism and anabolism operations of biomolecules. Therefore, this study was conducted toExpand

Short-term Solute Changes in Leaves and Roots of Cultivated and Wild Tomato Seedlings Under Salinity
TLDR
The daily variations of inorganic and organic solutes with salinity were determined in seedlings of cultivated tomato and its wild salt tolerant relative L. pennellii for 8 days, with the objective to identify physiological traits in either leaves or roots contributing to the salt tolerance. Expand
Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).
TLDR
This chapter describes a procedure for Agrobacterium-mediated wheat transformation by inoculation with a disarmed A. tumefaciens strain C58 harboring the binary vector pMON18365 containing the beta-glucuronidase gene with an intron, and a selectable marker, neomycinphosphotranferase (NPT) II gene. Expand
In vitro selection
TLDR
In classical plant breeding programmes, selection is carried out on huge populations normally in the field, but field selections are strongly influenced by environmental conditions, and are uncertain and lengthy, especially in the case of breeding for quantitative characteristics with a polygenic background. Expand
Photosynthesis in Plants
TLDR
Photosynthesis maintains the atmospheric oxygen content nearly constant and helps keep the concentration of carbon dioxide nearly constant due to its utilisation during photosynthesis. Expand
