We present here the effective theory of inflation `a la Ginsburg-Landau in which the inflaton potential is a polynomial. The slow-roll expansion becomes a systematic 1/N expansion where N ~ 60. The spectral index and the ratio of tensor/scalar fluctuations are n_s - 1 = O(1/N), r = O(1/N) while the running turns to be d n_s/d \ln k = O(1/N^2) and can be neglected. The energy scale of inflation M ~ 0.7 10^{16} GeV is completely determined by the amplitude of the scalar adiabatic fluctuations. A… Expand

The Early Universe and Planck's Radiation Law
The classical Friedmann-Lema\^itre equations are solved using a corrected version of Planck's radiation law. The function curves of the scale parameter a(t) and the variations with temperature a(T)Expand

The last five years have seen the coming of age of Modern Cosmology, a mature branch of science based on the Big Bang theory and the Inflationary Paradigm. In particular, we can now define ratherExpand
Cosmological Inflation and Large-Scale Structure
This textbook is the first to provide a modern and unified overview of inflationary cosmology and carefully compares predictions with the latest observations, including those of the cosmic microwave background, the clustering and velocities of galaxies and the epoch of structure formation. Expand
The Early Universe
The Universe Observed: Thermodynamics in the Expanding Universe and Toward the Planck Epoch is concerned with big-Bang Nucleosynthesis, Baryogenesis, Phase Transitions, and Structure Formation. Expand
