Mitigation of a hazardous NEO can be accomplished by deflecting it so that it misses the Earth. Strategies to deflect an asteroid include impacting it with a spacecraft (a kinetic impactor), pulling it with the gravity of the mass of a spacecraft (a gravity tractor), using the blast of a nearby nuclear explosion, and modifying the surface or causing ablation by various means including lasers or particle beams. None of these approaches has been tested on a NEO. The AIDA mission is a proposed… Expand

A New Mechanism for Soft Landing in Robotic Space Exploration
TLDR
A special class of nonlinear preloaded mechanisms, which take advantage of a variable radius drum (VRD) to produce a constant reactive force during deceleration, are focused on. Expand
Analyzing the impact of soft errors in VGG networks implemented on GPUs
TLDR
A thorough comparison among VGG, AlexNet, and ResNet indicates that LVF and KVF are determined by CNN network architecture, because layers of these networks, particularly convolutional layers, are implemented with the Im2col kernel, the most vulnerable and invoked in these CNN networks. Expand
