A routine examination of every baby in the welfare clinic or hospital, taking a few minutes only, will be enough to pick out the infants with cerebral palsy or mental sub‐normality of any but the minor degrees. When doubtful signs are found, more time will have to be devoted to studying the baby more carefully.
