We study the diversity of the density profiles of dark matter halos based on a large set of high-resolution cosmological simulations of 2563 particles. The cosmological models include four scale-free models and three representative cold dark matter models. The simulations have good force resolution. In each cosmological model, there are about 400 massive halos that have more than 104 particles within the virial radius. Our unbiased selection of all massive halos enables us to quantify how well…
MultiDark simulations: the story of dark matter halo concentrations and density profiles
Accurately predicting structural properties of dark matter halos is one of the fundamental goals of modern cosmology. We use the new suite of MultiDark cosmological simulations to study the evolution
Non‐universality of halo profiles and implications for dark matter experiments
We explore the cosmological halo-to-halo scatter of the distribution of mass within dark matter haloes utilizing a well-resolved statistical sample of clusters from the cosmological Millennium
Fingerprints of the initial conditions on the density profiles of cold and warm dark matter haloes
We use N-body simulations of dark matter haloes in cold dark matter (CDM) and a large set of different warm dark matter (WDM) cosmologies to demonstrate that the spherically averaged density profile
We explore the dependence of the central logarithmic slope of dark matter halo density profiles a on the spectral index n of the linear matter power spectrum P(k) using cosmological N-body
We present the results of the “Cosmogrid” cosmological N-body simulation suites based on the concordance LCDM model. The Cosmogrid simulation was performed in a 30 Mpc box with 20483 particles. The
Dependence of the inner dark matter profile on the halo mass
I compare the density profile of dark matter (DM) haloes in cold dark matter (CDM) N-body simulations with 1, 32, 256 and 1024 h - 1 Mpc box sizes. I compare the profiles when the most massive haloes
Resolving the Structure of Cold Dark Matter Halos
We present results of a convergence study in which we compare the density profiles of cold dark matter halos simulated with varying mass and force resolutions. We show that although increasing the
Triaxial modeling of halo density profiles with high-resolution N-body simulations
We present a detailed nonspherical modeling of dark matter halos on the basis of a combined analysis of high-resolution halo simulations (12 halos with N ~ 106 particles within their virial radius)
Profiles of dark haloes: evolution, scatter and environment
We study dark-matter halo density profiles in a high-resolution N-body simulation of aCDM cosmology. Our statistical sample contains 5000 haloes in the range 10 11 10 14 h −1 M⊙ and the resolution
The redshift dependence of the structure of massive Λ cold dark matter haloes
We use two very large cosmological simulations to study how the density profiles of relaxedCDM dark halos depend on redshift and on halo mass. We confirm that these profiles deviate slightly but

A Universal Density Profile from Hierarchical Clustering
We use high-resolution N-body simulations to study the equilibrium density profiles of dark matter halos in hierarchically clustering universes. We find that all such profiles have the same shape,
Resolving the Structure of Cold Dark Matter Halos
We examine the effects of mass resolution and force softening on the density profiles of cold dark matter halos that form within cosmological N-body simulations. As we increase the mass and force
The Structure of cold dark matter halos
High resolution N-body simulations show that the density profiles of dark matter halos formed in the standard CDM cosmogony can be fit accurately by scaling a simple “universal” profile. Regardless
The Cores of Dark Matter-dominated Galaxies: Theory versus Observations
We use the rotation curves of a sample of dark matter-dominated dwarf and low surface brightness (LSB) late-type galaxies to study their radial mass distributions. We find that the shapes of the
X-Ray Gas Density Profile of Clusters of Galaxies from the Universal Dark Matter Halo
The X-ray cluster gas density distribution in hydrostatic equilibrium is computed from the universal density profile of the dark matter halo proposed by Navarro, Frenk, & White in two recent studies.
The Average Mass Profile of Galaxy Clusters
The average mass density profile measured in the Canadian Network for Observational Cosmology cluster survey is well described with the analytic form ρ(r) = Ar-1(r + aρ)-2, as advocated on the basis
Accurate Determination of the Lagrangian Bias for the Dark Matter Halos
We use a new method, the cross-power spectrum between the linear density field and the halo number density field, to measure the Lagrangian bias for dark matter halos. The method has several
Simulations of X-ray clusters
We present simulations of the formation and evolution of galaxy clusters in the Cold Dark Matter cosmogony. Clusters with a wide range of mass were selected from previous N-body models, and were
Redshift Evolution of Galaxy Cluster Densities
The number of rich galaxy clusters per unit volume is a strong function of Ω, the cosmological density parameter, and σ8, the linear extrapolation to z = 0 of the density contrast in 8 h-1 Mpc
Accurate Fitting Formula for the Two-Point Correlation Function of Dark Matter Halos
An accurate fitting formula is reported for the two-point correlation function ξhh(r;M) of dark matter halos in hierarchical clustering models. It is valid for the linearly clustering regime, and its
