  • I. Indroduction. Two recent publications have dealt with the structure of anhydrous sodium Sulfate^). Gossner and Mussgnug's paper gives a coordination number of 4 only for sodium, with sodium to oxygen distances of 2. 06 Ä and 2.25 A. This result hardly agrees with evidence from other atomic arrangements. Moreover there can not be found the slightest agreement between observed and calculated intensities.
