In urban Sub-Saharan Africa there are three main problems related to water, namely drinking water supply, wastewater handling, and seasonal flooding. Mega Accra has a functional population of 2.7 million inhabitants with about 60 percent of the Metropolitan dwellers living in informal settlements or slums in the centre of the city while the middle and upper class move to its periphery.
