Abstract

This note is basically a summary of a part of the paper [11] with Eero Hyry (University of Tampere). In this note we prove that the Buchsbaum-Rim function `A(Sν+1(F )/N) of a parameter module N in F is bounded above by e(F/N) ( ν+d+r−1 d+r−1 ) for every integer ν ≥ 0.
