1. The Bohr effects of trout blood (which exhibits the Root effect) and of human blood were compared. Precise oxygen equilibria were measured with an automatic recording system, on normal trout red blood cell suspensions at pH 7.6 - 8.6, at 10 and 20 degrees C, and on normal human red blood cell suspensions at pH 6.8 - 8.0, at 37 degrees C. 2.
