We analyzed the expression of the BCL6 gene in mouse tissues by in situ hybridization. The expression was strong in the upper layer but undetectable in the basal layer of epidermis from adult mice. When human keratinocytes were cultured with a high concentration of calcium ion, these cells stopped their proliferation and differentiated to their terminal stage.
