Abstract On January 28, 1908, Adeline Genee made her New York debut as the star of The Soul Kiss. This musical was produced by Florenz Ziegfeld and staged by the Broadway veteran, Julian Mitchell. Not since the performance of Fanny Elssler had American audiences seen an exponent of the classical French school of dancing.
