The (Na+ + K+)-ATPase of chick sensory neurons. Studies on biosynthesis and intracellular transport.

The (Na+ + K+)-ATPase of cultured chick sensory neurons was studied with the aid of antibodies specific for this enzyme. Immunofluorescent labeling indicated the (Na+ + K+)-ATPase is evenly distributed on the neuronal cell surface; cell bodies, neurites, and growth cones were labeled with comparable intensity.
