The infralimbic cortex is a visceromotor area of the cortex. To define the thalamic afferents of this area, contrast them with those of the lateral agranular cortex, a somatic motor region, and assess the degree to which the thalamus might coordinate the activity of these cortical areas through axon collaterals, we conducted a retrograde fluorescent double labeling study using bisbenzimide and Fast Blue.
