AIM Radioisotopes used in nuclear radiopharmacy possess short half-lives, not allowing enough time to wait for completion of sterility tests. Moreover, carrying out sterility tests on highly radioactive solutions inside the hospital microbiology laboratory arises concerns about radioprotection.
