We undertook a prospective trial to evaluate terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase activity as a predictor of responsiveness to vincristine and prednisone in 22 Philadelphia-chromosome-positive patients with blastic chronic myelogenous leukemia. Thirteen patients were transferase positive, and nine negative.
