The first results of lattice QCD simulations on the nucleon tensor charge $\ensuremath{\delta}q$ are presented. From the quenched QCD simulations with the Wilson quark action at $\ensuremath{\beta}=5.7$ (the lattice spacing $a\ensuremath{\simeq}0.14$ fm) on a 16${}^{3}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}$20 lattice and on a ${12}^{3}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}20$ lattice, we find (i) the connected part $\ensuremath{\delta}{q}_{\mathrm{con}}$ is determined with small statistical error, (ii…

### Instanton induced transverse single spin asymmetry for π0 production in pp scattering

• Physics
• 2021
We calculate the production cross section and the transverse single-spin asymmetry for pion in ${p}^{\ensuremath{\uparrow}}+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}+X$. Our computation is

### Chiral symmetry and the nucleon spin structure functions

• Physics
• 1998
We carry out a systematic investigation of twist-two spin dependent structure functions of the nucleon within the framework of the chiral quark soliton model (CQSM) by paying special attention to the

### The Electric Dipole Moment of $^{13}$C

• Physics
• 2016
We calculate for the first time the electric dipole moment (EDM) of $^{13}$C generated by the isovector CP-odd pion exchange nuclear force in the $\alpha$-cluster model, which describes well the

### QCD sum rules for hyperon-nucleon interactions

• Physics
• 2004
We investigate the hyperon-nucleon interactions in the QCD sum rule starting from the nucleon matrix element of the hyperon correlation function. Through the dispersion relation, the correlation

### Spin orbital structure of the nucleon magnetic moment

• Physics
• 2004
How the nucleon magnetic moment originates from the quark spin and orbital motions is an important issue of the nucleon structure. The Gordon decomposition separates the quark vector current and

### Aspects of hadron and instatnton physics in lattice quantum field theories

An ongoing challenge to quantum chromodynamics as the theory of strong interactions is calculating hadron masses and matrix elements from first principles. Presently lattice calculations are the most

### Single-spin asymmetry in electro-production of $\pi^+\pi^-$ pairs from a transversely polarized proton target at the HERMES experiment

Spin structure of the nucleon is one of the fundamental topics in physics. The proton has spin 1/2, and contains quarks with spin 1/2 and gluons with spin 1. Three fundamental quark distribution

### Investigation of hadron matter using lattice QCD and implementation of lattice QCD applications on heterogeneous multicore acceleration processors

In this work new design concepts were developed for an active library (QDP++) harnessing the compute power of a heterogeneous multicore processor (IBM PowerXCell 8i processor) and it was possible to run a QDP++ based physics application (Chroma) achieving a reasonable performance on the IBM BladeCenter QS22.
