As an American dramatist, Tennessee Williams has been regarded as one of the greatest playwrights after Eugene O’Neill in the 20 century. With the popularity of eco-criticism, his ecological awareness has aroused researchers’ concern. This paper attempts to explore Williams’ ecological awareness from four aspects: his description about nature, people’s living surroundings, his portrayal of animal images and his concern about the characters’ spiritual ecology.
