Measurements of regional cerebral glucose metabolism (rCMRGlc) and blood flow (rCBF) are widely considered exchangeable for the detection of dysfunctional zones in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). However, the underlying assumption of preserved coupling of rCBF and rcMRGlc is questionable and requires verification.
