The template-directed assembly of two planar molecules (copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) and pentacene) on SiC nanomesh has been studied by scanning tunneling microscopy and photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively. Both molecules are trapped as single molecules in the cells of SiC nanomesh at low coverage.
