STATEMENT OF PROBLEM The heat generated during the exothermic polymerization reaction of autopolymerizing resinous materials and the heat generated by ultraviolet lamps during irradiation of photopolymerizing resinous materials could cause pulpal damage when a direct technique is used to fabricate provisional restorations.
