Abstract The effects of temperature on insect life history were studied for two whitefly hosts (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae), the silverleaf whitefly, Bemisia argentifolii Bellows & Perring, and the greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood), as well as the parasitoid, Eretmocerus eremicus Rose & Zolnerowich (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) attacking both hosts. Mean egg numbers as a function of time were fitted to models for age-specific oviposition for each whitefly. For B. argentifolii… Expand
Reproduction and development of Eretmocerus eremicus (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) on Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae)

Life Table Analysis for Immatures and Female Adults of the Predatory Beetle, Delphastus catalinae, Feeding on Whiteflies Under Three Constant Temperatures
TLDR
Overall, Delphastus catalinae was found to perform better at 22 and 26 °C while 30 °C was detrimental to immature development and adult reproduction. Expand
Effect of temperature on the life history of Eretmocerus sp. nr. furuhashii, a parasitoid of Bemisia tabaci
Eretmocerus sp. nr. furuhashii (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) is an indigenous parasitoid of Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius)(Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) from southern China; the effects of constant temperaturesExpand
Life-history parameters of Encarsia formosa, Eretmocerus eremicus and E. mundus, aphelinid parasitoids of Bemisia argentifolii (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae)
TLDR
The potential value for the biological control of whiteflies on greenhouse crops of parasitoids having either a high reproductive rate over a short period (Eretmocerus spp.), or a low rate of reproduction over a long period (Encarsia spp.) is discussed. Expand
Estimating development rate and thermal requirements of Hemiptarsenus zilahisebessi (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) parasitoid of Liriomyza sativae (Diptera: Agromyzidae) using linear and non linear models
TLDR
Temperature-based development models can be useful in designing massrearing protocols, in helping to make decisions in augmentative release trials, and in the development of predictive modelling. Expand
Life Table Analysis for Podisus maculiventris Immatures and Female Adults Under Four Constant Temperatures
TLDR
In the context of mass rearing P. maculiventris, 26°C is the optimal temperature tested, but female predators >21 d should be not be used because they may not be capable of laying viable eggs, although the effects of temperature did not change. Expand
Effect of food supply on reproductive potential of Eretmocerus warrae (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae)
TLDR
Investigation of the effect of food supply on longevity, host feeding, fecundity and parasitism in E. warrae found that parasitoids lived significantly longer when given honey but no host than parasitoid given the other treatments. Expand
Population Fluctuation and Altitudinal Distribution of Tetraleurodes perseae (Nakahara) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) in Avocado (Lauraceae) in Morelos, Mexico
TLDR
The objective of the present work was to determine the population fluctuation and altitudinal distribution of the T. perseae Nakahara whitefly in avocado trees, as well as the number of possible generations in one year, and showed diverse effects on the species depending on the altitude of the orchard. Expand
Life History Characteristics of Diorhabda Carinulata Under Various Temperatures
TLDR
Overall, severely high temperatures seem to have a debilitating effect on Diorhabda at early larval stages with nearly 50% mortality. Expand
Life Table Analysis and Development of Singhiella simplex (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) Under Different Constant Temperatures
TLDR
Singiella simplex (Singh) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) is a newly invasive pest of several species of Ficus plants in the United States and here, its development and reproduction at 15, 20, 25, 27, 30, and 35°C is studied. Expand
