Tell el-Kanais est le nom d'un groupe de tells s'etendant d'est en ouest, a l'est de Peluse, sur pres de 3 km. Douze sites, dont un theatre et des bains romains, ont pu etre repertories. L'auteur propose une liste commentee de ces sites (Kanais I a Kanais XII).

Techniques were implemented to extract anthropogenic features in the desert region of North Sinai using data from the first- and second-generation Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar, and several techniques were applied to distinguish apparent man-made features from sand dune ridges.
