Block RAMs (BRAMs) are commonly used by implementations of cryptographic algorithms on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). Unfortunately, any hardware implementation of a cryptographic function is susceptible to differential power analysis (DPA) attacks unless it is protected.
