Taxonomic and phylogenetic studies on Megasporoporia s.l. were carried out. Phylogenetic analysis based on ITS and nLSU sequences showed that Megasporoporia s.l. belonging to the core polyporoid clade, however, it is not monophyletic, and four clades were recognized. The Megasporoporia s.s. clade includes M. setulosa and two new species, M. bannaensis and M. minor spp. nov. Two monophyletic clades were segregated from Megasporoporia s.l., and two new genera were established. Megasporia gen. nov…

A new contribution to Megasporoporia sensu lato: Six new species and three new combinations

A phylogeny based on a 4-gene dataset of sequences (ITS + nLSU + mtSSU + tef) has confirmed the presence of four genera in Megasporoporia sensu lato: Jorgewrightia, Mariorajchenbergia,Megasporia, and Megaspora sensu stricto.

Polypores and genus concepts in Phanerochaetaceae (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

We explored whether DNA-phylogeny-based and morphology-based genus concepts can be reconciled in the basidiomycete family Phanerochaetaceae. Our results show that macromorphology of fruiting bodies

Ceriporiopsis kunmingensis sp. nov. (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) evidenced by morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis

Both morphological and molecular characters confirmed the placement of the new species in Ceriporiopsis, and showed that C. kunmingensis belonged to the phlebioid clade, formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support, and was closely related to Phlebia aurea and then grouped with P. livida and P. subserialis.

Phlebiopsis yunnanensis sp. nov. (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) evidenced by morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis

Both morphological and molecular characters confirmed the placement of the new species in Ceriporiopsis, and showed that C. kunmingensis belonged to the phlebioid clade, formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support, and was closely related to Phlebia aurea.

Purpureocorticium microsporum (Basidiomycota) gen. et sp. nov. from East Asia

A corticioid fungal species found in mountainous Taiwan, and Yunnan Province of China, is described as a new genus and new species: Purpureocorticium microsporum (Agaricomycetes, Basidiomycota), and the new combination Rhizochaete rubescens is proposed, based on morphological and phylogenetic evidences.

Morphological and Molecular Identification of Two New Species of Hyphodontia (Schizoporaceae, Hymenochaetales) from Southern China

Both morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis inferred from ITS sequences confirmed the placement of the two new species in Hyphodontia s.l. and showed its relationships with similar species in the genus.

Elaphroporia ailaoshanensis gen. et sp. nov. in Polyporales (Basidiomycota)

Investigation of representative taxa in the Meruliaceae based on ITS+nLSU sequences demonstrated that the genus Elaphroporia formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support and was grouped with Flaviporus and Steccherinum.

Taxonomy of Epithele (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

A new genus, Myriothele, is proposed for Epithele philippiae, which has urniform basidia and spherical basidiospores, and a preliminary key to the corticioid and polyporoid genera and species with hyphal spines, sterile ridges, and plates is presented.

Morphological and molecular evidence for two new species of Laetiporus (Basidiomycota, Polyporales) from southwestern China

Two Laetiporus species, L. ailaoshanensis and L. zonatus spp. nov., are described from southwestern China based on morphological and molecular characters. Laetiporus ailaoshanensis is characterized

Phylogeny and taxonomy of Ceriporiopsis (Polyporales) with descriptions of two new species from southern China

The phylogenetic analysis presented here showed that Ceriporiopsis is not monophyletic and the sampled species were grouped in four clades, including phlebia clade, residual polyporoidClade, tyromyces clade and gelatoporia clade.

High phylogenetic diversity among corticioid homobasidiomycetes.

It is concluded that corticioid fungi hold a considerable share of the phylogenetic diversity displayed by homobasidiomycetes, and should always be considered when phylogenetic studies of larger basidiomyCetes are designed.

Diplomitoporus rimosus is found in Asia and belongs to the Hymenochaetales

Molecular phylogenetic analyses of partial nuclear ribosomal LSU and ITS revealed that, unlike the generic type D. flavescens, D. rimosus is positioned in the hymenochaetoid clade, and a new genus is introduced to accommodate the species.
