Crematogaster coriaria Mayr, 1872, is revised based on the nest series samples. The following new synonymies are proposed: C. coriaria Mayr, 1872 =  C. coriaria fraudatrix Forel, 1911 syn. nov.  =  C. spengeli Forel, 1912 syn. nov.  =  C. spengeli taipingensis Forel, 1913 syn. nov. Worker, queen, and male castes of C. coriaria Mayr, 1872, are redescribed. The polymorphism of C. coriaria Mayr, 1872, was also discussed. DNA sequences were generated for C. coriaria Mayr, 1872, using an…

A new subterranean Crematogaster with one ommatidium from Cambodia, based on morphology and DNA (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

This species is unique in having the smallest eye in the genus Crematogaster, and belongs to the C. biroi group of the subgenus Orthocrema Santschi, 1918, which is characterized by developed subpetiolar process, developed subpostpetolar process and sculptured mesosoma.

Discovery of a New Crematogaster Species with 10-Segmented Antennae From the Indochina Region, With Description of the Species and Its Phylogenetic Position (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

Molecular phylogenetic analysis using nuclear genes revealed that C. indosinensis is sister to the remainders of the C. borneensis-group, suggesting that the taxa diverged relatively long ago.

Cryptic Diversity in the Widespread Asian Ant Crematogaster rothneyi (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) Inferred from Morphological and Genetic Evidence.

The Cambodian series is described as a new species, Crematogaster yaharai sp.

A taxonomic revision of the Asian endemic subgenus Physocrema of the genus Crematogaster (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

The subgenus Physocrema of the genus Crematogaster is revised, with two new species recognized, of which two are new to science: C. tanakai sp.

Taxonomy of the Crematogaster degeeri-species-assemblage in the Malagasy region (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

We revise the species-level taxonomy of the Crematogaster ( Crematogaster ) degeeri -species-assemblage, a group of related ants occuring in Madagascar and the wider Malagasy region, and further

The Crematogaster (Hymenoptera, Formicidae, Myrmicinae) of Costa Rica

The taxonomy and natural history of the ant genus Crematogaster are reviewed, with the recognition of several polytypic species with very broad ranges and the synonymization of the many names associated with them.

A subgeneric revision of Crematogaster and discussion of regional species-groups (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

An improvement of the previous subgeneric classification and recognize two subgenera based upon a concurrent molecular study of the global diversity of these ants, Orthocrema and Crematogaster sensu stricto, based upon the worker caste.

The formicidae of Borneo (Insecta: Hymenoptera): A preliminary species list

A critical review of ant literature resulted in a catalogue of 97 ant genera with 717 valid species and 52 additional subspecies of ants from 12 subfamilies, including eight genera for which, up to now, only morphospecies have been recorded in Borneo.

An evaluation of infraspecific names in Crematogaster (Paracrema) modiglianii EMERY, 1900 based on nest series (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

Nest series samples indicate that these infraspecific names in Crematogaster (Paracrema) modiglianii EMERY, 1900 represent morphological variation with weak geographical clines.

A List of Known Ant Species of Thailand (Formicidae: Hymenoptera)

The presently 247 known ant species were recorded to occur in Thailand and distributing among 55 genera in 9 subfamilies, i.e. Aenictus artipus, Leptanilla thai, Lophomyrmex striatulus, Tetramorium ciliatum, Tetramsorium flavipes, and Tetraponera notabilis.

It is demonstrated how DNA barcoding helps address the failure of current inventory methods to rapidly respond to pressing biodiversity needs, specifically in the assessment of richness and turnover across landscapes with hyperdiverse taxa.

Species Diversity of Ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in Louisiana

This report is the first-ever comprehensive assessment of the formicid fauna of Louisiana, finding one hundred thirty-two species from 40 genera and nine subfamilies.

Evolution, weighting, and phylogenetic utility of mitochondrial gene sequences and a compilation of conserved polymerase chain reaction primers

Molecular processes are reviewed, the correction of genetic distances and the weighting of DNA data are discussed, and an assessment of the phylogenetic usefulness of specific mitochondrial genes is provided.
