Relief of metatarsalgia of the second (and third) metatarsus secondary to hypermobility of the first ray. Correction of the angle between first and second metatarsus in instances of hallux valgus. Hypermobility of the first tarsometatarsal joint accompanied by forefoot pain during load bearing. The condition may be associated or not with hallux valgus or metatarsus I brevis.
