We previously showed that glycophorins are expressed in virus-transformed, murine erythroleukemia cells; we detected four glycophorin precursors (two more than in normal erythroblasts) and found that two of them are not translocated or are inefficiently translocated across the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane.
