This study was conducted to document the vegetable tanning agents used by rural tanners in Hukuntsi sub-district of Kgalagadi District, Botswana. A total of 57 artisan tanners were interviewed in 14 villages using a structured questionnaire from October to November 2010. Data were also collected by direct observation and interviewing of key informants.
