A new species of Paratanais Dana, 1852, Paratanais coelhoi sp. nov., is described and new records for Paradoxapseudes intermedius (Hansen, 1895), Intermedichelia gracilis Guţu, 1996, Vestigiramus sp., Nototanoides cf. trifurcatus Sieg and Heard, 1985, Biarticulata sp. and Arhaphuroides sp. are provided from northeastern Brazil based on collections from the REVIZEE-NE Program. This raises the number of tanaidacean species from the Brazilian coast from 45 to 49. Paratanais coelhoi sp. nov. shares… Expand

Integrative systematics and ecology of a new deep-sea family of tanaidacean crustaceans
A new family of paratanaoidean Tanaidacea – Paranarthrurellidae fam. nov. – is erected to accommodate two genera without family classification (Paratanaoidea incertae sedis), namely ArmatognathiaExpand
A new species of Paratanais Dana, 1852 (Crustacea, Peracarida, Tanaidacea, Paratanaidae) from Puerto Rico, northwestern Atlantic
Abstract Paratanais rosadi sp. n. described from Puerto Rican coastal waters represents the first species of the genus from the northwestern Atlantic. It is distinguished from the other ParatanaisExpand
Tanaidacea (Peracarida) from Brazil. V. Two new species of Apseudes Leach, 1814 from the northeastern coast of Brazil
Collections made during the REVIZEE program along the continental shelf, oceanic banks of the Archipelago of Fernando de Noronha and the North Chain Banks of Brazil, revealed a number of tanaidaceansExpand
Nototanaids (Crustacea: Tanaidacea) from Japan, with the Description of a New Species of Nototanoides
TLDR
A new nototanaid is described based on specimens from the Yaku-Shin-Sone Bank, Nansei Archipelago, southern Japan, which differs from its only congener in having a short distal article in the antennule and in the position of a row of aesthetascs on that article. Expand
Paratanais waltsikorai, a New Tanaidacean (Crustacea: Peracarida: Tanaidomorpha: Paratanaidae) from Bermuda
Abstract Paratanais waltsikorai sp. nov. is described from specimens collected from shallow-water habitats in Bermuda. It represents the second species of the tanaidacean genus to be named from theExpand

Tanaidacea (Tanaidacea: Crustacea) from Brazil. IV. A new genus and two new species from the family Leptocheliidae
TLDR
One new genus appears to be closely related to Konarus-Parakonarus-Pseudoleptochelia complex of species anddiffers mainly in the extremely elongated habitus of the male, Intermedichelia jesseri, which is here included in the family LeptOCheliidae. Expand
Remarks on Araphura Bird & Holdich (Crustacea, Tanaidacea) and allied genera, including descriptions of three new species
TLDR
A key for the three closely rclatcd genera Aruphura, Arhapuroides and Tanaella is provided and the taxonomic differences are discussed and the redescription of the type species, A. brevimanus, is presented. Expand
A CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF METAPSEUDIDS. DESCRIPTION OF A NEW GENUS AND THREE NEW SPECIES FROM THE CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE INDIAN OCEAN (CRUSTACEA: TANAIDACEA: APSEUDOMORPHA)
TLDR
The presence of an unknown morphological component on the female chelipeds of the new genus Vestigiramus is recorded and the presence of a vestigial exopodite, uniarticulated and devoid of setae, at the cheliped level is characterized. Expand
Tanaidacea (Crustacea: Peracardia) of the Gulf of Mexico. IV. On Nototanoides trifurcatus Gen. Nov., Sp. Nov., with a Key to the Genera of the Nototanaidae
TLDR
The general body structure, armament of pereopods, and general shape of antenna 1 indicate that Nototanoides is most closely related to the nototanaid genera Androtanais Sieg, 1973, and Nototanais. Expand
THE TANAIDACEANS (ARTHROPODA: PERACARIDA: TANAIDACEA) OF SÃO MIGUEL, AZORES, WITH DESCRIPTION OF TWO NEW SPECIES, AND A NEW RECORD FROM TENERIFE
TLDR
An attempt is made to investigate the provenance of the Azorean tanaidacean fauna, although the general lack of data from the North-east Atlantic precludes any reasonable interpretation other than some possible links with the Mediterranean. Expand
Tanaidacean Phylogeny - the Second Step: the Basal Paratanaoidean Families (Crustacea: Malacostraca)
TLDR
This study should be regarded as a platform for more comprehensive analyses and systematic conclusions for the Tanaidacea and suggests a re- vised method - the 'Restricted taxa analysis' - for resolving diffi cult datasets of the 'many-taxa-few-characters' type. Expand
Tanaidacea from Brazil. II. A revision of the subfamily Hemikalliapseudinae (Kalliapseudidae; Tanaidacea; Crustacea) using phylogenetic methods
TLDR
Based on recently collected material from Brazil the subfamily Hemikalliapseudinae is revised using phylogenetic methods and including ontogenetic observations, and comments on the ontogeny of the pereopodal exopod are included. Expand
Taxonomische und phylogenetische Untersuchungen über die Tanaidaceen (Crustacea)
TLDR
The taxonomy of the genera mentioned in the title is discussed as well as the taxonomic position of Typhlotanais longidactylus Shiino, and it is proposed that Leptochelia, Heterotanais, Hargeria, PseudoleptOChelia and PseudonototanaIS should be grouped together in the new family Leptokheliidae. Expand
The new and the old: littoral tanaidomorph Tanaidacea (Crustacea: Peracarida) from the Andaman Islands, Indian Ocean
TLDR
A redescription of the leptocheliid Konarus crassicornis is given, discussing its close similarity to the generotype, K. cheirus, and two new species of tanaidaceans are described, one of the tanaid genus Zeuxo, showing similarities to Z. (Parazeuxo) kurilensis and representing the first anatanaid to be recorded from the region. Expand
Taraxapseudes n. gen., Taraxapseudes diversus (Lang, 1968) n. comb. and two new species of Atlantapseudes B|cescu, 1978 (Tanaidacea: Apseudidae) from Brazil and Madagascar, with a key for the genus
TLDR
Atlantapseudes brasiliensis can be distinguished from the other species in the genus by the presence of curved spiniform apophyses on the posterior margins of pereonites 1–3, and was found to have a long antennal squama reaching nearly to the fourth article and a carapace with a lateral apophysis bordered by two setae.
