Pomegranate (Punica granatum) peel is a nutritive, antioxidant rich byproduct, easily available after production of pomegranate juice and ready to eat arils. The present study is undertaken to know the nutritional importance of fresh and detanninated pomegranate peel powder. Fresh pomegranate peel collected after juice extraction from Bhagwa variety of pomegranate. Fresh peels were crushed fine through grinder and passed through 2 mm sieve to collect homogeneous and uniform sized pomegranate…

Nutritive and antioxidative potential of fresh and stored pomegranate industrial byproduct as a novel beef cattle feed.
The nutritive value and the antioxidant capacity of pomegranate peel turn it into a favorable health-promoting constituent of feedlot beef cattle diet.
Total phenols and antioxidant capacity in 10 Moroccan pomegranate varieties.
Given the divergence observed on bioactive compounds concentrations and antioxidant activity among evaluated cultivars, the genotype factor should be considered as the most influencing factor in future breeding programs to enhance the synthesis of beneficialBioactive compounds.
Antioxidant activity of pomegranate juice and its relationship with phenolic composition and processing.
HPLC-DAD and HPLC-MS analyses of the juices revealed that commercial juices contained the pomegranate tannin punicalagin while only traces of this compound were detected in the experimental juice obtained from arils in the laboratory, which shows that pomesgranate industrial processing extracts some of the hydrolyzable tannins present in the fruit rind.
Study on wound healing activity of Punica granatum peel.
The methanolic extract of dried pomegranate (Punica granatum) peels showed the presence of a high content of phenolic compounds (44.0%) along with other constituents that supported the wound healing on application of the gels.
Pomegranate phenolics from the peels, arils, and flowers are antiatherogenic: studies in vivo in atherosclerotic apolipoprotein e-deficient (E 0) mice and in vitro in cultured macrophages and lipoproteins.
We have analyzed in vivo and in vitro the antiatherogenic properties and mechanisms of action of all pomegranate fruit parts: peels (POMxl, POMxp), arils (POMa), seeds (POMo), and flowers (POMf), in

Research on manipulating the content and type of PA in forage legumes is justified because they are associated with non-bloating legumes, lower soluble non-protein nitrogen in silage, and improved efficiency of protein utilization.
Antioxidant activity, polyphenol content, and related compounds in different fruit juices and homogenates prepared from 29 different pomegranate accessions.
The results showed that the antioxidant activity in aril juice correlated significantly to the total polyphenol and anthocyanin contents, however, the homogenates prepared from the whole fruit exhibited an approximately 20-fold higher antioxidant activity than the level found in the aril Juice.
