A two-dimensional numerical model of a water plasma jet loaded with spherical powder particles of alumina is proposed. The axisymmetric model is based on a two-fluid approach in which both the gas and particulate phase is described in Euler coordinates. The coupling of the two phases takes into account the momentum and heat exchange in order to predict velocities and degrees of melting of the powder particles.
