Culex (Culiciomyia) rajah n. sp. and Toxorhynchites (Toxorhynchites) rajah n. sp. were collected from the pitcher plant Nepenthes rajah at high elevations of Mt. Kinabalu, northern Borneo. Cx. rajah n. sp. is characterized by : adults with a dark stripe on upper parts of the pleura and a distinct pale basal band on terga II-VII; pupa with single 4-VIII setae and broad paddles; and larvae with short setae, 7-C and 8-P, a slender siphon with usually 5 pairs of 4-6 branched 1-S tufts, and long…
