As a part of the Department of Energy Tritium Readiness Program, the Tritium Extraction Facility (TEF) at the Savannah River Site (SRS) is preparing to receive the first shipment of irradiated Tritium Producing Burnable Absorber Rods (TPBARs) from the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. Tritium will be extracted from the TPBARs at the TEF.
