Introduction: Colorectal carcinoma is the major tumor (incidence) in the Italian population, with almost 52,000 diagnoses estimated for 2012: almost 20,000 deaths were recorded for colorectal cancer (of which 55% among men), neoplasm in second place in mortality due to cancer (11% in males, 12% in females) and between second and third place in the various ages of life. The aim of the present study is that through the analysis of the results obtained to seek further indications for the surgical…

Laparoscopic Treatment in Pancreatic Pathology ?
TLDR
Treatment indications that are well codified with the possibility of extending their applications to perform both derivative and resective interventions are obtained, regardless of the tumor site and the type.
Which Laparoscopic Treatment in Pancreatic Pathology?
TLDR
Treatment indications that are well codified with the possibility of extending their applications to perform both derivative and resective interventions are obtained to diagnose and treat patients with pancreatic neoplasm.
CURRENT PROGNOSTIC FACTORS IN COLORECTAL CANCER
Introduction: Colorectal carcinoma is one of the main causes of mortality due to neoplasia in all Western countries and with high technological development. There are 150,000 in Europe and 30,000 in
PERFORATED DUODENAL EVENTS POST
TLDR
Complicative perforative events, which occur in patients undergoing ERCP with biliary stenting, are dealt with and it is shown that an aggressive attitude with immediate recourse to surgery or conservative therapy, in relation to the lacerations of the side wall of the duodenum, is needed.
Which Surgical Strategy in Sepsis from Retro Peritoneal Colic Perforation
In the last decade, attention has been paid to severe abdominal infections which, due to their severity and difficulty in treatment, cause death in 30-60% of cases.

ISSN: 2319-6505 WHICH TREATMENT IN CYSTIC TUMORS OF THE PANCREAS: CONSERVATIVE OR RESECTION
TLDR
A retrospective analysis of patients with pancreatic cystic neoplasms found that surgery is currently the only treatment with curative intent, despite the claims of Gudioronsson, Di Catalto and others on the need and usefulness of a Intervet resection.
What is the role for the circumferential margin in the modern treatment of rectal cancer?

Journal of clinical oncology : official journal of the American Society of Clinical Oncology
  • 2008
TLDR
It is demonstrated that, after neoadjuvant therapy (both radiotherapy and radiochemotherapy), the predictive value of the CRM for local recurrence is significantly higher than when no preoperative therapy has been applied and involvement is one of the key factors in rectal cancer treatment.
Routine use of transrectal ultrasound in rectal carcinoma: results of a prospective multicenter study.
TLDR
It is concluded that TRUS may aid decisions relevant to treatment only when used by well-trained investigators with a large case load of rectal carcinoma patients, and centralization of transrectal ultrasonography service is mandatory if a high level of quality is to be achieved with this method.
Is the increasing role of Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery in curation for T1 rectal cancer justified? A systematic review
TLDR
This systematic review tries to elucidate current literature regarding local excision for T1 rectal carcinomas and investigates whether there is enough evidence to propagate LE as a curative option in selected (T1) rectal cancer patients.
Surgeon Specialty Is Associated With Outcome in Rectal Cancer Treatment
TLDR
Good outcome for patients with adenocarcinoma of the rectum who undergo neoadjuvant external beam radiotherapy and proctectomy is associated with subspecialty training in colon and rectal surgery.
Accuracy of Endorectal Ultrasonography in Preoperative Staging of Rectal Tumors
TLDR
The accuracy of endorectal ultrasonography in assessing the depth of tumor invasion, particularly for early cancers, is lower than previously reported.
Clinical and Molecular Anatomy of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST)
TLDR
The study carried out shows that the markers are the key to the histological diagnosis of GIST and introduced anti-angiogenic therapy with administration of sunitinib at a dose of 50mg/die for 4 weeks every 6 weeks for the purpose of inhibiting tumor growth with a time of disease-free interval longer.
Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery Versus Conventional Transanal Excision for Patients With Early Rectal Cancer
TLDR
The quality of resection is better with TEMS than with TAE, however, the apparently better oncologic outcomes can be partly explained by case selection of lower-risk tumors of the upper rectum.
Treatment Therapies in Renal Cell Carcinoma in elderly: A Descriptive Analysis
TLDR
Results show that in these cases treated with this therapy, the use of biological response modifiers establishing itself as the treatment of choice in advanced kidney cancer, in combination with lIFN 2alfa had encouraging results in terms of complete response, partial response and stable disease.
Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery: A Viable Operative Alternative in Selected Patients With Rectal Lesions
TLDR
The TEMS operating system provides the surgeon with a suitable alternative for the resection of benign and malignant rectal neoplasms in selected patients, and is advocated as part of a colorectal surgeon’s operative armamentarium for these selected cases.
