Investigation of secondary
γ
-ray angular distributions using the
N15(p,α1γ)C*12
reaction
- Materials Science
- 2021
The observation of secondary $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-rays provides an alternative method of measuring cross sections that populate excited final states in nuclear reactions. The angular distributions…

A plotless density estimator with a Norton-Rice distribution for ordered distances
- MathematicsJournal of Forestry Research
- 2021
A Norton-Rice distribution (NRD) is a versatile, flexible distribution for k ordered distances from a random location to the k nearest objects. In a context of plotless density estimation (PDE) with…
Linear polarization–direction correlations in $$\gamma $$-ray scattering experiments
- Physics
- 2021
Abstract. Scattering measurements with incident linearly polarized γ rays provide information on spins, parities, and γ-ray multipolarity mixing coefficients, and, therefore, on the nuclear matrix…
Cross-section measurements to low-lying excited final states in the
Mg24(α,p)Al*27(γ)
reaction as an energy source for x-ray bursts
- Physics
- 2020
Energy production in Type Ia x-ray bursts depends on a number of nuclear reactions that become efficient in a hot environment (up to 2 GK). Model sensitivity studies have been performed in an effort…
Radiative Width of the Hoyle State from γ-Ray Spectroscopy.
- PhysicsPhysical review letters
- 2020
Using the results of the cascading 3.21 and 4.44 MeV electric quadrupole transitions, the radiative width of the Hoyle state is determined as Γ_{rad}=5.1(6)×10^{-3} eV, about 34% higher than the currently adopted value and will impact models of stellar evolution and nucleosynthesis.
