175 patients with acute myeloid leukemia were treated between February 1980 and March 1985 with a TAD-induction therapy, three intensified consolidation cycles (COAP, COAP, AD), and a two-year mild maintenance therapy. The median age of the patients was 44 years, range 15-68 years. 62.3% of all patients attained complete remission and 13.7% partial remission.
