BACKGROUND The T axis was postulated to be a general marker of repolarisation abnormality, indicative of subclinical myocardial damage. The aim of this investigation was to assess the prognostic importance of the T axis for fatal and non-fatal cardiac events, in a prospective cohort study of men and women aged 55 years and older.
