Six species in two families of Cheilostomata-Calloporidae and Lacernidae-are described from the southern coasts of the Korean Peninsula, resulting in a new distributional record and four new species to the Korean fauna. Further, Woosukia n. gen. is described, based on an existing species. Two species names (Crassimarginatella crassimarginata and Arthropoma cecilii) are deleted from the Korean faunal list owing to previous misidentification, with the net result that the Korean cheilostome fauna…

The occurrence of two non-indigenous Conopeum (Bryozoa: Cheilostomata) species in the coastal waters of South Korea
TLDR
Two nonindigenous bryozoans are found: Conopeum reticulum (Linnaeus, 1767) and C. seurati (Canu, 1928), which have distinctive morphologies and distributions along environmental gradients of the sampling sites.
Apprehending novel biodiversity redux – thirteen new genera and three new families of Zealandian Bryozoa, with the first living species of the Eocene‒Miocene genus Vincularia (Vinculariidae)
  • D. Gordon
  • Biology
Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom
  • 2021
TLDR
Thirteen new genera and three new families of cheilostome Bryozoa are described from the New Zealand biogeographic region, centred on Zealandia, and almost half of the new species form spot-like colonies on hard substrata.

Intertidal Bryozoa from Korea-new additions to the fauna and a new genus of Bitectiporidae (Cheilostomata) from Baengnyeong Island, Yellow Sea.
TLDR
Eight species are added to the intertidal bryozoan fauna of South Korea, all collected from the extreme northwestern part of the country at Baengnyeong Island, increasing the total to 121 species.
New cheilostome bryozoans from the Middle Miocene of Hokkaido, Japan, and the first fossil occurrences of Kubaninella and Hayamiellina gen. nov
Abstract Three new species and one new genus of cheilostome Bryozoa are described from the Kaigarabashi Sandstone Beds (Kunnui Formation, late Middle Miocene) of southwestern Hokkaido. These are
Rocky-intertidal cheilostome bryozoans from the vicinity of the Sesoko Biological Station, west-central Okinawa, Japan
TLDR
Given that many species were rare or uncommon in the study area and/or patchily distributed among the three sites, further sampling at additional intertidal sites in the Sesoko area will likely detect higher total local richness than the 52 species found.
First record of the genus Retevirgula in the Mediterranean Sea, with description of R. akdenizae sp. n. (Bryozoa, Cheilostomida)
Abstract A new species of Retevirgula, Retevirgula akdenizae sp. n., was collected during the “Akdeniz ‘92” campaign at Datcha (Turkey) from a Posidonia meadow. It is characterized by autozooids with
Bryozoa of the Early Eocene Tumaio Limestone, Chatham Island, New Zealand
TLDR
A previously unstudied bryozoan fauna from the Tumaio Limestone of Early Eocene age on Chatham Island is described, totalling 77 species (22 Cyclostomata, two CtenostomATA and 53 Cheilostomati) and the following new taxa are introduced.
A Faunistic Study on Cheilostomatous Bryozoans from the Shoreline of South Korea, with Two New Species
TLDR
Two new species of the order cheilostomatous bryozoans are described as new species and the following eight species are reported as new records of Korea.
A Systematic Study on the Marine Bryozoans in Cheju-do
TLDR
For the systematic study of the bryozoans in Cheju-do, the present study was done with the materials collected from 13 localities during the period from 1965 to 1985, reporting 52 species, eleven of them new to Korean fauna.
Systematics of the bryozoan genus Macropora (Cheilostomata)
TLDR
The generic diagnosis of Macropora is revised, eight new species from New Zealand are described, and the northern hemisphere Upper Cretaceous species Monoporella exsculpta (Marsson), showing features allowing it to be placed tentatively in the stem-group ofMacropora, is redescribed.
New taxa of Japanese and New Zealand Eurystomellidae (Phylum Bryozoa) and their phylogenetic relationships
TLDR
A cladistic analysis was carried out on 11 eurystomellid species and five outgroup species, the latter representing the families Cribrilinidae, Euthyroididae, Petalostegidae, and Catenicellidae and the results of the analysis support restricting EuryStomella to multiserial species with large frontal foramina, median suboral sutures, and basal pore-chambers.
Apprehending novel biodiversity—fifteen new genera of Zealandian Bryozoa

TLDR
Fifteen new genera of cheilostome Bryozoa are described from the New Zealand biogeographical region, centred on Zealandia, from shallow coastal waters to abyssal depths, with plesiomorphies that are novel among Recent Calloporidae but which are found in some Cretaceous calloporids or cribrilinids.
