In this paper we discuss the systematics of quarkonium production at the LHC. In particular, we focus on the necessity to sum logs of the form log(Q/p⊥) and log(p⊥/mQ). We show that the former contributions are power suppressed, while the latter, whose contribution in fragmentation is well known, also arise in the short distance (i.e., non-fragmentation) production mechanisms. Though these contributions are suppressed by powers of mQ/p⊥, they can be enhanced by inverse powers of v, the relative…

In this paper we derive the next-to-leading-order (NLO) fragmentation function for a heavy quark, either charm or bottom, into a heavy quarkonium J/Ψ or ϒ. The ultraviolet divergences in the real

We present a factorization formula for the inclusive production of the Higgs boson at large transverse momentum $P_T$ that includes all terms with the leading power of $1/P_T^2$. The cross section is
Mass dependence of Higgs production at large transverse momentum

Background of Heavy Quarkonium Physics
Since the discovery of $${J/\psi }$$ in 1974 [1, 2], heavy quarkonium physics has played an important role in revealing and in investigating the QCD at the interplay between the perturbative regime

There is, I think, something ethereal about i —the square root of minus one, which seems an odd beast at that time—an intruder hovering on the edge of reality.
