We study a mobile quantum impurity, possessing internal rotational degrees of freedom, confined to a ring in the presence of a many-particle bosonic bath. By considering the recently introduced rotating polaron problem, we define the Hamiltonian and examine the energy spectrum. The weak-coupling regime is studied by means of a variational ansatz in the truncated Fock space. The corresponding spectrum indicates that there emerges a coupling between the internal and orbital angular momenta of the…

Spin Signatures in Intense Laser-Ion Interaction

Spin-orbit coupling of a multiply charged ion is investigated in an intense laser field with a non-negligible magnetic field component. The Lorentz force induces an enhanced angular motion of the

Spin-Orbit Coupling Effects in Zinc Blende Structures

Character tables for the "group of the wave vector" at certain points of symmetry in the Brillouin zone are given. The additional degeneracies due to time reversal symmetry are indicated. The form of

Spin and radiation in intense laser fields

The spin dynamics and its reaction on the particle motion are investigated for free and bound electrons in intense linearly polarized laser fields. Employing both classical and quantum treatments we

On a new method in the theory of superconductivity

SummaryA generalization of the method elaborated by the author for the theory of superconductivity is presented. It is shown that the original Fröhlich model possesses the property of
