A series of polyamides were prepared by direct polyamidation of the p-Xylylene glycol with various commercially available dinitriles via Ritter reaction. All the synthesized polyamides showed good solubility in amide type solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, N,N-dimethyl acetamide, N,N-dimethyl formamide, and dimethyl sulfoxide. They exhibited inherent viscosities in the range of 0.25–0.62 dl/g. Elemental analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared and…

Two new diacid monomers 4,4′-bis[5-(trimellitimido)napthyloxy]diphenyl sulfone and 4,4′-bis[5-(trimellitimido)napthyloxy]benzophenone were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic analysis. A
Synthesis of new diacid monomers and poly(amide-imide)s: study of structure–property relationship and applications
Two diimide-diacid monomers 4,4′-bis[4″-(trimellitimido)phenyl isopropylidene-4″′-phenoxy]diphenyl sulfone and 4,4′-bis[4″-(trimellitimido)phenylisopropylidene-4″′-phenoxy] were synthesized. The
A New Approach for the Synthesis of N-Arylamides Starting from Benzonitriles
A new synthetic protocol for the preparation of N arylamides was developed via the hypervalent iodine-mediated aza -Hofmann-type rearrangement of amidines via the conversion of nitriles to acetanilide and N -arylamides.

IrIII-Catalyzed direct syntheses of amides and esters using nitriles as acid equivalents: a photochemical pathway
An unprecedented IrIII[df(CF3)ppy]2(dtbbpy)PF6-catalyzed simple photochemical process for direct addition of amines and alcohols to the relatively less reactive nitrile triple bond is described

Synthesis of functional polyamides by the ritter reaction
Polyamides having pendant functional groups such as hydroxyl, mercapto, or imine groups were synthesized by the Ritter reaction of dinitriles and trioxane in concentrated sulfuric acid. The

Bis(4-chlorophenyl)sebacate (BCPS) was poly-condensed with 1,12-diamino-4,9-dioxadodecane or with its bistrimethylsilyl derivative in three different solvents with variation of time and temperature.
Recent developments in the synthesis, thermostability and liquid crystal properties of aromatic polyamides
Wholly aromatic polyamides were developed and commercialised some decades ago, and since then a great deal of effort has been expended to try to improve in particular the processability of the early
Synthesis and polymerization of the acrylamide derivatives of fatty compounds
The Ritter reaction of plant oil triglycerides (such as soybean and sunflower oil) with acrylonitrile was used to introduce acrylamide functionality on the triglyceride. Acrylonitrile and
Macrocycles. 17. The Role of Cyclization in Kinetically Controlled Polycondensations. 2.† Polyamides
Two series of kinetically controlled polycondensations were conducted yielding polyamides of aliphatic dicarboxylic acids. First, the bis(trimethylsilyl) derivatives of 1,3-diaminobenzene,
Conformational Restriction of the Calix(6)arene Macrocycle by the Ritter Reaction
Herein we report on the development of a novel and efficient approach to the restriction of the conformational mobility of calix[6]arenes. The method involves the addition of tertiary alcohols to
