The Diels–Alder reaction involving furan as a diene component are of particular interest due to the possibility of obtaining oxanorbornenes and oxanorbornadienes. The latter are widely used as intermediates in creating more complex ring structures [3, 4] and analogs of biologically active compounds [5, 6].
