Polypyrrole (PPy) nanoparticles were chemically synthesized via microemulsion polymerization of pyrrole and ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS) in the presence of surfactant dopants. Influences of polymerization temperatures, stabilizers and dopant natures on size and conductivity of PPy nanoparticles were investigated. Spherical PPy nanoparticles of 60 – 90 nm in diameter with the specific conductivity in the range of 0.8 – 61.9 S/cm have been achieved, depending upon polymerization conditions.
