Efforts to establish electron nuclear double resonance spectroscopy (ENDOR) are underway at Hampden-Sydney College. To this end, phenalenyl radical (PNT), a useful reference ENDOR compound, was successfully synthesized and ESR samples of the compound were prepared. The compound was prepared via a two step procedure from perinaphthenone.
