SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF SCHIFF’S AND N-MANNICH BASES OF ISATIN AND ITS DERIVATIVES WITH 4-AMINO-N-CARBAMIMIDOYL BENZENE SULFONAMIDE
Isatin and substituted Isatin were reacted with 4-amino-N-carbamimidoyl benzene sulfonamide to form a series of Schiff’s bases. The Mannich bases of these compounds were synthesized by reacting them
Synthesis and biological evaluation of novel benzimidazol/benzoxazolylethoxypiperidone oximes.
TLDR
Some novel benzimidazol/benzoxazolylethoxypiperidone oximes synthesized exerted potent in vitro antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus while compounds 26, 29 and 30 exhibited powerful in vitro antifungal activity against Candida albicans, Candida-51, and Aspergillus niger.
The mode of action of l,2‐benzisothiazolin‐3‐one on Staphylococcus aureus
TLDR
BIT has little effect on membrane integrity but significantly inhibits the active transport and oxidation of glucose by washed Staphylococcus aureus cells, and the observed interaction of BIT with glutathione and isolated enzyme preparations suggests that cellular thiol groups are a major target for BIT.
Correlation between antifungal activity and hydrophobicity of imidazole antifungal agents.
TLDR
The mechanism of action of imidazole derivatives for Candida albicans was considered to mainly consist in the membrane action, and the correlation between antifungal activity and hydrophobicity of these drugs was investigated.

TLDR
3-amino-4-methoxypyrrolidine is selected as one of the most promising C-7 substituent groups based on the QSAR analysis of azetidine quinolones to clarify the structural requirements for 3-substituted azetidines to potentiate antibacterial activity.
