2-(4-aminophenyl) benzimidazole were reacted with p-nitro benzaldehyde to form a Schiff base compound. A series of Mannich bases of this compound were synthesized by reacting them with formaldehyde and different secondary amines. TLC and Column chromatography is used for the isolation and separation of the mixture of the compound with the help of silica gel G and GF and visualize by iodine chamber.
